E.V.A.C.

Serious Game

E.V.A.C. is a project that I developed for the Gothenburg's firefighters department (Räddningstjänsten Storgöteborg), in Sweden. The aim of the game is to teach children how to evacuate a building and what actions  they would perform in case of fire, without risking their safety.

My contributions in E.V.A.C.

Concept and prototyping

I designed numerous paper prototypes along with my team to find out which will be the best game mechanics to turn the game as engaging as we could.

Level design

My greater contribution to this project was the level modularization, that allowed to teach children each security subject level by level, without having a cognitive overload. This modularization brought shorter game play sessions for each level and more opportunities to provide educational feedback to players.

Unity development

I developed the particles system that simulates the fire and smoke appearance and spreading behaviour.
